UPIKE Restructures Bowling Program – Mountain Top Media

Athletic Director Kelly Wells announced the restructuring of the management of the UPIKE bowling program.

The move elevates Bobby Brown to director of bowling while retaining his position as head coach of the women’s program, while Andrew Demowski will serve as assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs.

Longtime men’s bowling head coach Kyle Wilson will continue to lead the men’s program.

“Our bowling teams have consistently excelled as one of the best programs in the country,” Wells said, “These changes reflect the growth of the program, as well as the addition of the SportsPlex, and provide a centralized leadership structure. I am also thrilled to elevate Coach Dekowski to a permanent position as he has been key to the success of the program.

Coach Brown joined the women’s bowling program in 2016 and had immediate success, finishing second at the NAIA Nationals that year.

Under Brown, the Bears won three MSC tournament titles and five MSC regular season titles. Succeeding legendary coach Ron Damron, Brown was also named NAIA Coach of the Year twice during his tenure, while earning four MSC Coach of the Year nominations.

Last season, the Bears finished second in the MSC Tournament, earning the team’s 10th consecutive bid for the NAIA National Tournament.

Coach Wilson has been with the men’s bowling program since 2003, entering his 18th season with the program in 2022.
