CORE’s first cohort
Last month CORE opened applications for its inaugural cohort and the response was clear: There is a strong demand for accessible education in the real estate industry. Of the nearly 250 applicants, over 50% were women and the average age was 24.
A number of HBCUs were represented in the candidate pool, including:
- Alabama A&M University
- Alabama State University
- Howard University
- Miles College
- Shelton State Community College
- Stillman College
- Tuskegee University
Powered by the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE), CORE is a program of the REimagined initiative. Their goal is to empower more than 100,000 young adults of color in the real estate industry by 2030, and CORE is the first step in making this a reality.
ACRE enjoys strong support from the real estate industry, as well as some major community partners. Other partners will soon be recognized. This support has helped fund scholarships that change lives, already totaling more than $ 350,000! The Founder’s campaign ends on December 31 and continues to welcome new partners at this time.
