You may not have noticed, but bowling is making a comeback. Many area bowling alleys are noticing a surge of new bowlers! My youth started bowling in many leagues and over the years I have enjoyed bowling alleys like Pampa Lanes, Continental Lanes, Apollo Lanes, Micelli’s, Shores, The Rec Bowl, Bonanza, Ark Sterling and many more. ‘others.

But one of my favorites is a short drive from downtown Detroit to the Garden Bowl. It is unquestionably the oldest bowling alley still in operation today. An added bonus is that it is next to Sergeant Pepperoni’s Pizzeria. I still have my bowling ball and my Hammer shoes, and it’s time for me to venture out and get back on the slopes soon. Maybe pick up the phone and call some friends and have some old-fashioned pin-busting fun.
