Jefferson Bowling ends first season 6-4

DELPHOS – In its first year as a program, the Delphos Jefferson Club bowling team finished its season with a 6-4 record. Additionally, the team also placed second in the 2022 Rick Lee Memorial Tournament and seventh in the OHSAA Section Tournament.

Junior Braylon Scalf came out of the section tournament shooting a streak of 570. Scalf represented Delphos well at the district tournament on February 25, where he shot a streak of 597 and placed 13th individually. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to qualify him for the state.

Other team members include juniors Mark Stemen, Julian Calvelage, Tyler Dellinger and Lee Painter; and sophomores Ashton Milligan, Tyler Wilkins and Madison Bland.

Coach Cameron Reed and Coach Doug Stemen were extremely pleased and proud of the hard work of each of these athletes this season. After setting the bar high this year, the team is looking forward to improving their skills in order to race at the state next year.

Special thanks to the Optimist Club of Delphos for sponsoring the club’s bowling team by funding their new uniforms. Another special thanks must go to Bruce Van Meter and Delphos Bowling Alley for their support of the team and their role as host.
