Bowling Green man convicted of rape

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – A Bowling Green man has been convicted of rape in a case dating back to 2019.

A Warren County jury ruled Thursday that 20-year-old Kolten Drake Dunn was guilty of rape and illegal transaction with a minor.

Dunn was charged in 2019 with illegally entering a 12-year-old girl’s home through a front bedroom window and having sex with her, according to her original arrest quote.

On March 22, 2019, Kentucky State Police Station 3 was made aware of a sexual abuse complaint involving Dunn (18) and a 12-year-old teenager. According to the arrest citation, on or around March 13, 2019, Dunn entered the residence at 264 Ashton Court and had sex with the minor. On March 29, 2019, Dunn was questioned at the Kentucky 3 State Police Station. He was notified and waived his rights, agreeing to speak with detectives. Dunn admitted entering the residence at 264 Ashton Ct. Through the front bedroom window. He wasn’t sure of the exact date. Dunn admitted to having sex with the minor, believing she was 13.

According to the quote, Dunn did not have permission from the owners to enter the residence.

A jury found him guilty of second degree rape and first degree illegal transaction with a minor.

Dunn will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least eight and a half years. The Commonwealth accepted a 10-year prison sentence.

His final conviction will take place at a later date.

Dunn will also have to register as a sex offender, he is in the Warren County Regional Jail.
